Randy Savage
Ringo Rock

The Announcer of the Year Award was the most coveted prize for any commentator in the Monster Football League. Two rival announcers, a raspy werewolf named Randy Savage and a charming vampire named Ringo Rock, were both desperately hunting for the award. Vampires and werewolves naturally dislike each other, and the feud between them flared to extremes with both groups rallying behind their own kind and rooting for the announcers.

Randy Savage was stoic and honest, and he wanted to win the award fairly. He had a loyal fan base who appreciated his insightful punchlines and raspy commentary. He also had a great chemistry with his female co-host and family friend, the beautiful Lelee Peach, a human who loved monster football and had a knack for interviewing players and coaches. Randy and Lelee had a special bond, and he cherished the way she treated him like family, but he especially liked when she would scratch behind his ears.

Ringo Rock, on the other hand, had a dark side and was determined to get the award regardless of rules or collateral damage. He had a smooth and charming voice, but he often resorted to lies, exaggerations, and insults to spice up his commentary. He also had a gang of vampire goons who would do his dirty work, such as sabotaging rival announcers, bribing judges, and even intimidating fans.

Things boiled over when Ringo's goons threatened Lelee Peach, hoping to make Randy withdraw from the award race. They told her that if Randy didn't back down, they would bite her and turn her into a vampire, making her hate Randy. Lelee was terrified, but she refused to give in to their demands. She told Randy what they had said, and he vowed to protect her. He would have werewolves on watch to guard her from Ringo's fanged goons.

The last big playoff game of the season was a few days before the Announcer Awards vote, and it was also the game that Randy and Lelee were assigned to commentate on. It was a thrilling match between the Liberty Tunnel Tacticians who were last years Monster Bowl champions, against the River City Ronin, the victorious team will face off against the Brookline Brawlaz. The Brawlaz just won their second playoff game to secure their spot in this years Monster Bowl 24! Randy and Lelee were doing a great job, keeping the fans entertained and informed with their lively and professional commentary.

However, Ringo had planned a menacing move at halftime to ruin their performance. He had hired a vampire disguised as a microphone technician to bite Lelee during the set up of a live interview. The vampire waited for the right moment, and then struck Lelee's neck with her fangs, injecting her with the curse of vampirism. She tried to scream, but the incredibly fast moving vampire covered her mouth gracefully and whispered, "You're one of us now, sweetheart. Say goodbye to your wolf friends." The sinister ambush was executed flawlessly, catching Lelee's werewolf bodyguard flatfooted with a mouth full of meat. The sly curse gifting vampire inconspicuously danced away into the sea of fans, fading off into obscurity.

As the camera started to roll for the interview, the fans saw the frozen shocked face of Lelee Peach, with two bite marks on her neck and a subtle blood drip. Randy, who was watching from the booth, saw it too, and his eyes bulged and his jaw dropped. He felt like he got shot in the heart with a silver bullet, and he was unable to continue announcing the game. He sat there motionless in a catatonic state from shock or rage maybe both, nevertheless someone needed to step up and take over announcing the game. The fans were stunned and confused, wondering what was going on. Half time was over now and both teams were getting ready and still the microphones were silent. Restlessness started spreading within the audience. “The game must go on!” the crowd yelled. “What are the announcers doing, this game is to see who is going to the Monster Bowl”, beseeched the fans. Ringo, who was watching surreptitiously from the stands, smiled wickedly and said to himself, "Looks like Randy has lost his voice. How unfortunate. I planned on stepping in after that loser Savage left for the hospital but guess I need to make my move early.

“Geez a guy can't get a day off huh!” Ringo screamed into the restless crowd. “I'll have to step in and save the day." He grabbed his microphone and headed to the field, hoping to take over the commentary and impress the fans and the judges. Cheers erupted as Ringo played hero.

However, he didn't count on one thing: Randy's friend, the legendary goblin Myron Noll, who had been set as a guest commentator unknown to Ringo. Myron was a veteran who had won the Announcer of the Year Award so many times in the past that he wasn't even allowed to take part anymore. He was also a master of roasting, and he had a grudge against Ringo for his dishonest and disrespectful behavior.

Myron saw Ringo's attempt to hijack the commentary, and he decided to stop him. Myron walked up to the main microphone before Ringo could plug-in and said, "Hold on, folks. Don't let this bloodsucking leech fool you. He's the one who's behind this whole microphone mess. He's been trying to sabotage Randy Savage all season, and he's the one who ordered his fanged goons to bite Lelee and turn her into a vampire. He's a fraud, a cheat, and a scoundrel, and I have the evidence to prove it." He then proceeded to reveal Ringo's devious plan, and showed the fans and the judges the recordings, photos, and documents that he had collected from Ringo's goons, who had been captured and interrogated by Randy's werewolf friends.

The fans were outraged and disgusted by Ringo, they booed, threw food, and insulted him. Even fellow vampires disapproved of his deceitful actions. The judges were appalled and instantly disqualified him from the Announcer of the Year Awards. Ringo was ruined and exposed as a fraud, and he lost his reputation and his job within a split second. He would barely be able to find a proper game to work, what would happen if he really loses favor within the Monster Football League? How could Ringo have miscalculated his scheme like this, it was all that Myron Nolls fault! It was in that moment of reflection that Randy Savages rage-filled claws sliced across Ringo's eye! The pounce of a werewolf can be bone breaking, but when it's unexpected it can be absolutely devastating! The strike flung Ringo far across the field into the arms of a few eager security guards. Randy regained control of himself as his fury faded. Ringo was thrown out of the stadium, and forever banished from the microphone of any Pro Monster Football League game.

Lelee was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for her bite and given a special serum that would ease the effects of the curse. Randy rushed to her side, and hugged her tightly. He apologized for not being able to protect her, and wanted to remain her friend no matter what changes occur. Lelee smiled and told him that she wasn't afraid of becoming a vampire. She said that their bond was stronger than any curse, and that she would always be his co-host, friend and family. Randy howled.

Randy and Lelee decided to continue working as announcers, and they became even more popular and successful. Lelee embraced her curse of vampirism, and used it to enhance her skills and hypnotic charisma. Randy supported her and helped her adjust to her new life, and he also learned to appreciate her new abilities and style. Although now Lelee does complain more often about how bad Randy Savage smells, so she always keeps a bottle of Old Salt body wash near by! Savage was thankful to still have his friend. He got lucky this time, no award is worth losing family!

It was at the pregame ceremonies of the Monster Bowl 24, between the Brookline Brawlaz and Liberty Tunnel Tacticians, that Randy and Lelee celebrated Savage winning the Announcer of the Year Award. Thanks to the number of votes from all the judges and fans who started admiring Savages loyalty to his friends even more than his talented raspy voice. Lelee scratched Randy behind his ears as they both smiled and Randy let out a celebratory howl.

Meanwhile out there somewhere, Ringo Rock was commenting on an amateur game in a old ruined mostly empty stadium. Strangely enough at that moment, it was as if Ringo could actually hear Randy's victorious howl. The scar over Ringo's eye began to burn with a painful irritation again, it didn't matter how much blood he drank or time he spent in the coffin, his wound inflicted by Randy Savage's claw would never heal!
